March 11, 2007 Update

Hi One and all:

Is it just me, or does it feel like spring has sprung? Well here at Five Stones Films it feels like spring for sure! We've edited more than half the 90 hours of footage we shot. Both Chris and I are having a blast editing the interviews, the football, the personalities surrounding this grand ol' sport. As I've sat down and looked over footage that I've never seen before (you've got to remember that after we filmed Chris immediately put it onto computer so I haven't seen 1/10th of the footage) it looks amazing. I'm so proud of the shots, the interviews, the Saskatchewan vibe (if you can call it that).

We're going to show a 2-10 minute trailer at the Football Saskatchewan Football Clinic in April. A big thank you to Jeff Yausie for his continued unfailing support of our documentary. Jeff has also invited us to put the trailer on the Football Saskatchewan website. We'll notify you when it's there. The film will be done by the middle of June, it will be around 2 1/2 hours in length and we want all of you to preview it with us. After that, we are going to market it (if you have any ideas please let me know, I'm all ears). Ideally, we'd like to play the movie across Saskatchewan in movie houses throughout the summer. Nothing would be more satisfying for Chris and I than to make this available to all the towns and cities that make up this great province.

Unfortunately, the cost is high ( a movie print costs around $20,000) so we'll have to see if it's viable. I'll talk to you soon, enjoy the warm weather and the longer days and hug your families, that's why we're here.

Cheers,

Tom Simes
