Hi Friends,
The Riders have won the Grey Cup! The Riders have won the Grey Cup! It still feels like a dream. I can’t imagine what it’s been like for Jim Hopson and the rest of the Rider staff but it’s gotta feel good! Congrats to our Riders, the team, the support staff and to the 13th man, the fans! Wow, the last month has been insane, with the world premiere of Season of Dreams at TCU Place, the Grey Cup and now the marketing of the film across Saskatchewan and beyond.
Last week Mish and Kim (our wives), set up a booth to sell DVD’s at the Grey Cup Luncheon at TCU place. It was great seeing Gene Makowsky bringing the Cup to Saskatoon. Many people mentioned how much they’ve enjoyed watching Season of Dreams on DVD. We’re starting to get comments from people telling us how much they appreciate the second disc with the extended interviews.
We have a number of outlets where people can buy a copy of Season of Dreams such as the two Rider stores in Regina, Premium Spas in Saskatoon, the Huskie stores (Midtown Plaza and Market Mall), the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in Regina, Brainsport, Iron Works, London Drugs (Lawson Heights), Nordon Drugs, McNally Robinson, the Skate Exchange, all in Saskatoon, Big Way Foods in Hague as well as the Barn Playhouse near Martensville.
Our website is also set up for DVD sales through Pay Pal. That’s been a learning experience for us, and an eye opener as well. We’ve sold DVD’s to people across Canada and to places you’d never expect like Hong Kong, China and North Carolina.
We’re extremely proud and excited that there will be cheques given to Huskie Athletics, the Hilltops and Football Saskatchewan because of the sale of Season of Dreams DVD’s. It’s truly a win/win situation.
Looking to 2008, we’re starting to prepare for a Saskatchewan tour of Season of Dreams. We want to kick off the tour in Regina in early March and go to communities across the province with our film. We want to partner with local football teams and use the event as a fundraiser for their teams. If you know of any community that might be interested, please have them contact us at 934-1535 or they can email me at simesfamily@shaw.ca. This is my last Season of Dreams update for 2007 so I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Take care and God bless.
Sincerely,
Sincerely,
Tom Simes
