August 11, 2007 Update

Summer Greetings,

I just finished talking with Cliff David (president of the Hilltops) via email earlier this week and he mentioned that Season of Dreams was going to be fantastic for all of football in the province of Saskatchewan. I couldn't agree with him more. My family and I got back from our annual trip to Canmore Alberta about a week ago. I teach a video-editing course there with my kids. Anyhow, Chris and I edited for 33 hours last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It was an absolute joy to watch footage we hadn't seen in literally months. We've edited the movie into a three and a half hour epic kind of like the Ten Commandments, now we have to whittle that down to two hours or so. Our musical score music from Jared Robinson is sounding sweet.

We're gearing up to meet with Glen Suitor over the Labour Day weekend. Glen has volunteered his vocal talents for the project as the narrator. To say we're excited that Glen is narrating is an understatement. Not only does Glen have a nationally recognized voice for football, he also happens to have an amazing voice that will play extremely well in a documentary.

That's all I have for now, we have more exciting news that I'll fill you in on in the weeks to come. In the meantime, enjoy the Riders, they're 5-2 and looking good.

Warm Regards,

Tom Simes
