Dear friends and football fans,
Chris and I have been editing like madmen to try and get our mountain of footage down to the size of a molehill. As you well know we started with 90 hours of footage, from there we edited the stock footage down to 25 hours. Chris and I worked separately on this, and came together a week ago to edit as a team. We just finished editing my 15 and a half hours of footage down to 5 hours and we plan to do the same with Chris' footage this week. By this time next week we'll have roughly 10 hours of super high quality footage to edit down to our movie length of 2 and a half hours.
I can tell you with certainty from the footage we've viewed that the shots look better than I could have imagined. The Panasonic DVX 100B is one tasty camera. The stories coming out of the footage are very compelling and we haven't edited them into a one concise story yet. We plan on having the movie out by June 15th, and we want to have a preview showing with all of you. We'll keep you posted as to a time and date for the preview. Football Saskatchewan has generously agreed to show a trailer of the movie at their annual football coaches clinic and Tera Schneider (Sports Info Officer for Huskie athletics) has offered to put the trailer on the Huskie athletic website. A big thank you to Jeff Yausie and Tera Schneider for helping us out.
I guess I'd better get back to editing. Thanks for your support and encouragement. We're starting to see light at the end of a long, long tunnel. Enjoy the spring; we'll talk to you soon.
Cheers,
Tom Simes
